Shelter Building
Going back to basics! We have a great wooded area for a variety for shelter building activities. Ranging from a practical overnight shelter to a more sustained natural camp. This can be part of a selection of activities or a more detailed and advanced session. We supply all the materials needed so all you need to bring in your sense of adventure.
Im not sure what it is but to be able to start a fire from the basics is a great sense of achievement. We will supply you with the tools and skills to be able to do this. We will show you how to start a basic fire and progress onto different fire types and while its going we might just get a brew on the go!
Our ultimate bushcraft experience is all of the above and more. You will be given and introduction to bushcraft and build your own camping area, including a shelter and fire. From this you will prepare and cook your own meal and learn the finer details of hunting and tracking.
If you are up for the adventure you can also turn this into and overnight stay and guess where you will be staying. We will also include a night trail walk and evening activities.
Whether you want to cook on an open fire or on stoves we will take you back to basics and show you how to gut and prepare a variety of meals using natural ingredients and the surrounding area.
If there is a specific meat or meal you would like them please inform us upon your enquiry. (rabbit, fish, chicken, pheasant, guinea fowl)

Bushcraft & Orienteering​
Brooklands College is set within over 50 acres of woodland which hosts much wildlife including rabbit and dear. Our bush craft areas are set in the heart of the woods with a small stream running nearby. We can run bush craft sessions from the basics of building a shelter to the building of a functional camp area with shelter fire and some very local lunch!
Orienteering

Our orienteering course is spread over 50 acres of land and has many different routes. It is a great way to learn navigation skills and have fun rummaging through the woodland to find our posts. We have courses set up from beginner to expert and if you are new to orienteering we can run a short introduction session to get you started.
It doesn’t matter if you are here for an hour and weekend we can cater for you. We have an excellent catering team who can provide hot and cold meals from buffets to sit down silver service. We can also provide a catered BBQ or if you just can’t help cooking a BBQ your way, you can hire it from us!
